This
scar was a result of Strip Excision surgery. It was repaired utilizing
both chest and scalp hair.
We wish to state that the growth rate and survival of grafts in scar
tissue is less than in healthy skin and can vary widely in different
types of scars.
According to Dr. Woods and Dr. Campbell, the aim is to densely pack the
scar with hair to maximize survivial and "break up" the scar
and make it less obvious. In some difficult, thick and avascular scars
several procedures are required.
