Dr. Woods & Dr. Campbell's Patient
2 Sessions
Filling in of the temples &
lowering of the hairline

Lowering the hairline
- Hairline reconstruction is one of the most challenging endeavors in hair transplantation as the slightest miscalculations can have serious repercussions on the patient's aesthetics. Most hair transplant doctors are usually reluctant to pursue an aggressively low hairline for the patient for fear that first, it may not look natural for the patient and second, progressive thinning behind the hairline will subject the patient to more surgeries in the future. Aesthetically speaking, hairline work is also the most critical as this is one aspect that is the most vulnerable to the public's eye.

Dr. Woods & Dr. Campbell are known to be among the "safest" names when it comes to hair transplant. They have been widely praised for their natural and non invasive approach with all aspects of the surgery: the design, execution, craftsmanship and aesthetics. After all, it is 100% performed by doctors. Dr. Woods & Dr. Campbell also share our beliefs that patients should not pursue an aggressively low hairline unless the patient's situation has been thoroughly evaluated.

The following is to illustrate that while we do not recommend our readers to aggressively pursue a lower hairline, there are indeed success stories from some of the best hair transplant doctors in the world.

This patient is forty years old and requested infilling of left and right temples, and lowering of the hairline. According to Dr. Woods & Dr. Campbell, this can only be done when the following considerations are properly addressed:

1. Age
2. Pre-existing hair texture, density, and distribution
3. Facial shape and bone structure
4. Family history

As a general rule, Dr. Woods & Dr. Campbell reconstruct temporal points if necessary, but do not bring them forward to facilitate a lowered hairline.

This patient had two sessions or approximately
600 grafts on each side. Each session takes about 10+ hours to complete. The patient did not experience any shock fallout. There is no indentation in the recipient area, skin damage or signs of surgery being done. The surgery was performed in June 2000. The yield for this procedure is about 95%.
